Reiki

Reiki is an ancient technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it our energy is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include  relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Reiki is a non invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing used to support orthodox and complementary medicine. It is increasingly accepted in health and community care facilities including hospitals, hospices and cancer support units.         
Reiki is a holistic way of life. Its teaching enhances physical wellness, emotional balance, mental calmness and spiritual awareness.

Reiki is an ancient healing art rediscovered in the mid 19th century by Mikao Usui and deals with universal energy as a vital life force that flows through all living things. When we treat someone with Reiki it is done by laying our hands gently on various parts of the body, resulting in a flowing sensation of warmth felt by the practitioner as well as the client.

Because tension that originates in the mind often reveals itself in the body, Reiki can help you relax and release stress and regain your balance naturally.

During Reiki, your physical self feels content and at ease, giving your mental self an opportunity to let go of the emotional tension it is harbouring. Because the body and mind are so intimately connected, touch can trigger a relaxation response that loosens tight muscles and relieves anxiety.

Training

REIKI

Anyone can "learn" Reiki. The word learn is not quite right, as most of us cannot just read about Reiki and then do it. The ability to use Reiki is given via an attunement or initiation.

Students learn self-treatment and treating others. Students begin practicing Reiki treatments after the first attunement.
